Jad: Hello girls! Can you tell us a bit about yourselves?

Vale: Hi my name is Vale, I’m the main admin of Amy Lee and Evanescence Italia (we are three Admin). I’m from Italy, and I am responsible for fire prevention and a security guard, and for a hobby I play the acoustic/electric guitar, and sing.

Jad: How did you first start listening to the band you support?

Vale: The first time I heard Evanescence was with their song ”Bring Me To Life”, in far 2003, and was on MTV music Channel. I watched that girl Amy Lee singing while walking on the ledge of a building, with that voice, so strong and so fragile at the same time, and.. Wow! I said: “SHE’S GREAT! I WANT TO HEAR IT AGAIN AND AGAIN!”

Jad: Why did you decide to make a fan page dedicated for that band(s)?

Vale: Because they play music and songs so close to me, I felt understood. A kind of music that represented the real part of me. So I became a fan of them and I thought that it was right to share my love for Evanescence with other fans around the world.

Jad: Did you see your band(s) live? Did you get to meet any of the members?

Vale: Yes, I did. I saw them live for the first time in Rome in 2004, (their first concert in Italy) and then in July 2017 in Milan, where I finally met them, all five members. And last year on 19th of March 2018 always in Milan in the Teatro degli Arcimboldi for the Synthesis tour with the orchestra. I felt so happy to finally meet Amy Lee and all Evanescence members. She is so sweet and beautiful. She’s my soulmate! You know, words are not necessary sometimes, it takes one to catch one. Only a smile. My heart was so full of joy, she looked at me, smiled, and I felt like I was at home.

Jad: How does the front-woman of that band inspires you to be a better person?

Vale: Amy is a multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar, harp), she paints, she’s very creative, a producer, writer and she fought many battles in her private life. And I relate to her. She is a strong woman, she was able to get up again and found the strength to carry on and me too! She gave me the push!

Jad: As a young woman, what rights do you feel that girls and women around the world are still missing?

Vale: I think that women need more RESPECT, first of all, worth and space, both in the world, in the music business, to be treated with the same level of men. It needs more laws to protect women around the world.

Jad: What other bands do you like to listen to?

Vale: Lacuna Coil, Korn, Nightwish (with Tarja Turunen)

Jad: What lyrics from a metal song would you think of in the following situations:
If you’re depressed?

Vale: Korn – Did my time!

Jad: If you’re getting bullied?

Vale: Numb, Linkin Park. I love the video clip, the song, everything. RIP Chester

Jad: If you’re happy and having a good time?

Vale: It’s really hard give only one answer! I think Black Sabbath, Planet Caravan.

Jad: If you’re late to school or work?

Vale: Black Sabbath! No doubt! PARANOID!

Jad: What is your favourite new-comer band?

Vale: My favorite new comer band? OMG.. There are so many bands around the world. In Italy there are some that I like Cirque de Reves, Alteria, they are one-woman band, Sick ‘n’ Beautiful ect…) Greta van Fleet, Beast in Black, Hyborian. –

Jad: In your opinion, what is the difference between Metal and Rock and any other music genre? And why are the fans of artists in Metal more dedicated than other fans?

Vale: I think that there can be a real connection, a kind of chemistry, between the singer(s) and the fan(s). And if the singer can convey his power, his energy, his feelings, into deep, to the person who listen, the bond never will break it. And Metal, has this magical power.
